The Baron Of The Universe is taken over Las Vegas

by Bea Taylor

Las Vegas, the city I love
The Baron had a dream to move to the U.S. since he was a 16. "For some reason I always wanted to move to San Diego. However, When I was 21, I moved to England to perform and learn more skills on how to my make myself to be more versatile showman".

He came to Las Vegas first time only two years ago to support his partner LouLou D’vil in Burlesque Hall of Fame where she was competing for the tittle of Miss Exotic World. She won. "Not that it was my first time in Las Vegas but in America" he says.

The Baron traveled a bit around the U.S. "a bit around to cities such as New Orleans, Los Angeles and Dallas, but the city that really took my heart was Las Vegas. This was the city I now had burning desire to come back to and move into. I wanted it so hard that two years later I'am now living here and making my dream come true".

I asked The Baron about the difference in between Europe and USA in the field of performing arts and here is what he says about his experience.

"I have performed since 1998 in various different circuses, troupes and done tons of solo shows. Most of the shows I’ve been involved in have been rather theatrical and acting based. Most of the European based performers I know from my field of art are putting on theatrical acts".

"When I first came to USA and started seeing American shows in the field of physical comedy and sideshow, I soon realized that they are standing in more traditional form of midway entertainment with less theatrics and more stunt based shows. I must say that I am very proud of my American brothers and sisters who are still keeping the flames of traditions burning hot".

The Baron talks about his performance shows around the world. "As mentioned earlier, I have been performing for quite a long time. I have seen crowds of 10 people up to 20 000 people. I have performed from New Zealand to Singapore, from Seychelles to Iowa. I have been performing for the festival crowds of Glastonbury Festival to Prince of Saudi Arabia. I have been pushing sharp steel pins through my flesh and been hanged of the flesh hooks".

"These days my shows are based in physical comedy with extreme stunts. My stage persona is ever so camp and dandy with healthy amount of roughness to it. I bend iron bars with my teeth, rip books in half, hammer large nails into my nasal cavity, tear steel chains apart and lift heavy weights with piercings and eyelids". The Baron has a current Guinness World Record for Heaviest Weight Lifted With Nipples 72 lbs.

He  also host shows and events. "Only a few weeks a go I had a great honor to be hosting a gala at The Golden Tiki where in famous Carrot Tops shrunken head was revealed". We first met during The Golden Tiki's Mad Monster Party Weekend which he also hosted.

The Baron talks about his new production."Me and my partner LouLou D’vil are producing a club night called Mondo Sleaze. Mondo Sleaze is a 60’s-70’s GoGo style club influenced by the worlds of Russ Meyer and Quentin Tarantino. This is a club night for everybody to have fun and just let the daily worries to be forgotten".

Who is CFJ?

by CFJ

I'm a second generation Las Vegan and damn proud of it. And yes, people DO get born here... and NOT on the Black Jack table either.

My Grandfather moved to Las Vegas from Minnesota (Making me one of the few Vikings fans in Vegas) to work as a foreman on Hoover Damn. Growing up I LOVED all the amazing stories from the building of one of the projects that lifted this country out of the Great Depression. My FAVORITE all time story is when my Grandfather was in the hospital after pushing so hard as a foreman on the Flamingo, he had an appendicitis attack. Bugsy Siegel  himself went to

visit him in the hospital the night of the famous grand opening of the Flamingo. My granddad was so taken aback that he said "what are you doing here during the grand opening"? Bugsy told him not to worry because the massive storm that hit Vegas that night left the place basically empty.

My Grandmother was the executive secretary for Moe Dalitz at the Desert Inn and was privy to A LOT of Mob secrets although she never divulged them to ANYONE. Dalitz was a member of the Detroit Mob in Vegas as well as Allard Roen, Irwin Molasky and Merv Adelson.  A funny story was when my Mother was in Sunrise Hospital after giving birth to me, the nurses were NOT very nice to her. Once she got flowers from Merv Adelson, the ENTIRE nursing staff waited on her hand and foot. You see, Dalitz, Roen, Molasky and Merv Adelson founded Sunrise Hospital.

He met my grandmother who had just moved to Nevada from Utah and they set their roots. Roots that were solid and they both lived the rest of their lives in Las Vegas. My father, as I, was born in Vegas and he too lived the majority of his life in Las Vegas. My Mother was born in Athens, Greece and after she won the Miss Greece pageant, she went to live in New York to work at the Ford Modelling Agency. Her dream was to be a dress designer so that lead her to Los Angeles.

My Father was a starving actor in LA and that's where they met. After my sister was born they moved back to Las Vegas where I was born. While in Vegas, my Father had small parts in he few films that were shot in Vegas. He had 2 lines in the original Sinatra version of Oceans 11 and even later in life, he played a security guard in the De Niro film, Casino. During the 1970's, after my parents divorced, my Mother was an independent contractor for many Casinos and one of them was the Stardust. She designed and made all of the uniforms from the Carousels to the cages. And the person she dealt directly with was Frank "Lefty" Rosenthal (The person Robert De Niro plays in "Casino").

She always had nothing but nice things to say about the man and he always treated her with respect, was always a gentleman and trusted her opinion on what the uniforms should look like. A funny anecdote from that time was one day, a right hand man of Lefty came to my Mother and told her that Mr. Rosenthal would like her to take a package out tot the Valley. The Stardust was about to be raided by the FBI and they had a tip so they asked several trusted people to take some of the skimmed cash out of the Casino. My Mother not used to the ways of the Mob was scared and drove straight to my father to ask for advice. He told her to just do exactly as they instructed because "they" will be forever grateful. She did and was in good with the Jewish Mafia out of Chicago. She even worked for Steve Wynn. Although I moved away with my mother and sister when I was 13 years old, I always considered Vegas my home.

My father was a Reagan democrat. Remember those? Democrats that didn't blindly regurgitate the party line and voted for the best candidate? And since my parents divorced when I was 4, I was raised by my mother. She was born in Greece but had lived in the US since she was 21. Its been my experience that immigrants, especially from socialist style countries are more appreciative of the freedoms that a lot of Natural born Americans take for granted. And in some respects, a majority of them are conservative. So while my Mother's influence on me sent me in a conservative direction, it was my own investigations and studies into political policies as well as getting to the roots of successful as well as failed policies.

Although I was late to getting into social media, I had written a blog post back in 2009 that went Viral. I was so sick and tired of people saying how horrible the eight years of Bush were I decided to do my own research on the actual cause of the 2008 crash and ensuing great recession. Now I won't bore you with the details, but if you google "Remember Jan. 3rd, 2007" you will find 10's of thousands of results. For my full version of the article including the related video, you can go here: I am a contributor on Wayne Dupree's news ninja site for some time now. And this moves us to the next chapter of my foray into citizen journalism.

Stacy Rush who had been in on the ground floor of news ninja and who I had built a friendship with on Twitter, asked me if I was interested in having my own political talk show on the soon to be launched WAAR radio (We Are America Radio) another Dupree venture. Since I had had my own music show on the radio when I played Pro basketball in Europe, I jumped at the chance to get my thoughts out to an even broader audience. I started the ascend conservatism show on WAAR over a year and a half and truly Enjoy the opportunity to not only inform the listener on not only conservatism but also to expose the liberal lies like the one I exposed about liberal housing policies that dumped Americans into this never-ending recession.

I also want to entertain the listener and that is why I created the Dateline segment that uses sound effects and famous quotes from politics to get my points across in a fun way. I also use the acronym for my airwave personality if you will of "CFJ". I do not use my real name because I want to focus the entire show to be Conservatism, and not me. I do all of this (articles/social media/radio) out of love for country and to try in my little way to help turn
America back on the right path. Personal glory is last on my list for motivation for my promotion of the conservative cause, and that's why, even here on Vegas I will remain (semi) annonymouse as CFJ.

PIMP's, HO's & FIVE-0's Halloween Bash Party

by Bea Taylor

PIMPS, HO's, AND FIVE-0's Halloween Bash, sponsored by Shoot Las Vegas was a BLAST!

This year Eric Brashear's Halloween party was attended by more than 300 of the coolest event professionals and entertainers in Las Vegas.

The suggested, but not mandatory theme for this year was PIMPS, HO's, AND FIVE-0's but the party attendees took it very serious, you can see on the photos

There were an open bar, grilled steak and chicken, photo ops, and live performances. The party started at 9 pm and only finished next day in the morning. It was literally an over the top mind blowing party.

PIMPS, HO's, AND FIVE-0's was a coordinated  production by Stace Wagle, Brooks Thurman, Tommy Shockley, Rob Wansley, and Ladyj Hill and Stace Wagle provided the music and run it all night. Loved it!  Please click here for the photos.

DIRKHAUS. The Dirk Vermin's Beer

Dirk Vermin, TV guy, musician, tattoo artist, businessman, writer, producer and product endorser, etc., etc., launched his Dirk’s BEER this past Thursday.

It was like a triathlon, launching his beer, hosting the three parties and finalizing the event with a performance by Dirk Vermin playing his guitar and singing his favorite songs—it was a GREAT performance!

Dirk, surrounded by close friends, his business partner, his crew and his girlfriend, Erica Lynn, launched his new brew by loudly announcing, “Dirk’s BEER DEBUTS TONIGHT!!!  BEER SO GOOD IT HURTS YOUR FEELINGS!  Join me at all or any of the bars below!  It’s gonna be a blast!!!”  And, INDEED, IT WAS!

The beer called Dirkhaus is brewed in collaboration with CraftHaus Brewery located right here in Henderson, and is available at the Double Down Saloon, Frankie’s Tiki Room and the RiRa Irish Pub (Mandalay Bay Place).

As Dirk shares on his website, “…I am currently not taking on ANY new clients until further notice as my many upcoming business ventures have taken precedence.”

As we shared with you in September, in February 2016, Dirk is launching a new cigar brand called El Vermin Cigar while at the same time getting ready (early 2016) to start up his brand new band named, what else but, Dirk Vermin and The Hostile Talent which he describes as “ high-octane rock and roll."

So, YES, we agree that DIRK IS REALLY, REALLY BUSY!!

Liberation Through Music and Art

by Bea Taylor

The Second Annual "Liberation through Music and Art", IN TUNE PRODUCTIONS, will be coming to Las Vegas Saturday, November 14th and will be hosted at the Las Vegas Country Saloon on Fremont Street.

It all started a year ago,  when the owners of In Tune Productions,  a successful music production company, desired to promote a concert with meaning and purpose. The owners, Justin and Paula Pimentel, have a great passion for music and  have been promoting concerts for 12 years. They say "Las Vegas has always been one of their favorite places to host events”, and so they come back every year.

Recently,  they both have become concerned with the direction America is heading and decided to involve an educational aspect to their shows; thus, the creation of "Liberation Through Music and Art" came to be.

Now along with epic live music and artistic vendors,  their events also include guest speakers ‘ presentations on subjects such as Chemtrails', 2nd Amendment preservation, Agenda 21, Government corruption, natural healing, and the importance of family unity.

"Liberation Through Music and Art" tours all year throughout the west from Washington and Oregon to California and Nevada. Their plan is to grow the event each year so they can continue to spread their messages to the masses while doing what they love most "MUSIC."

As we all learned this past week, there is apparently now evidence that there is liquid water on the Planet Mars.  Also, ironically, this past week the movie The Martian starring Matt Damon was released and from what I understand NASA is actually promoting the movie on their website.  Thus I find it most appropriate to feature Tina Marie Caouette, RESTRICTED AIRSPACE, on this week.

Tina Marie Caouette moved to Las Vegas in 2008 for many reasons, but the primary reason was her then recent UFO, as well as abduction experiences, that occurred while living in the outskirts of Sin City.  These occurrences completely transformed the way she lives her life today and has directed her to writing her first fiction book Alien Deceptions in 2011.  She describes the novel as fiction based on fact behind this mysterious phenomenon which has also led her on a path of discovering the truth, or at least her version of this truth.

Tina spent a couple of years with the Las Vegas UFO Hunters, and started Majestic 12 TV with them.  Also during that time, Tina spent her off-hours as a MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) investigator.  Living in Las Vegas gave her a unique opportunity to investigate local sightings.  However, may of these reports were very much explainable as local air traffic and Venus.  This, however, has never stopped her from seeking the truth.

In 2012, Tina Marie was once again given an opportunity to show her skills behind the scenes and was hired at KDWN 720 Radio in Las Vegas.  There she handles most of the board work and occasionally gets the chance to produce live shows.  This past summer she joined the crew of Knights Paranormal Research Society, not just behind the scenes, but actually live on the air with them on KLAV 1230 Radio.  This experience was what actually launched the idea for her own paranormal show.

Programming Director, John Shaffer at KDWN was actually the one that helped get the air time for her show at KDWN called Restricted Airspace.  With all of her past contacts from Majestic 12 TV, this show is undoubtedly filled with topics addressing UFO’s, the paranormal and conspiracies.  The show airs each Friday night at Midnight and will definitely be the one hour you don’t want to miss each week.

Adding to her wealth of experience, in the Summer of 2014, Tina was the guide to Area 51 for a UK film crew who was shooting a reality TV show called Educating Joey Essex.   Tina’s job, over the four day video shoot, was to educate Joey Essex on UFO’s as well as contacts.  She also shared the history of Area 51 and brought the crew as close as they could go to the base.

Currently, besides her weekly radio show, Tina is in the process of writing a follow-up book called Project Deep Core.  She is also currently working on her memoirs detailing her own personal UFO experiences.  And as if all that were not enough, Tina is presently working in conjunction with an illustrator and looking forward to launching a series of fun-filled kids’ books ranging from Golden Retrievers to a series on UFO encounters.

Dirk Vermin aka The Energizer Bunny!

When I was finally able to “corner” Dirk Vermin, actually set up a time and place and get an interview with him, it was a very pleasant surprise. I wanted the interview to focus on his book and never expected to listen to him talk about so many other things.

Yes, we did get eventually get a chance to talk about his book, “The Devil and Dirk Vermin?!” which is now scheduled for publication in early 2016.

On October 22nd, Dirk shared that he is launching a new beer called DirkHaus in collaboration with Crafthaus Brewery located right here in Henderson, NV and will be available starting that day at the Double Down Saloon, Frankie’s Tiki Room and the RI RA Irish Pub at the Mandalay Bay Place.

Also, in February 2016, Dirk is launching a new cigar brand called El Vermin Cigar while at the same time getting ready (early 2016) to start up his brand new band named, what else but, Dirk Vermin and The Hostile Talent which he describes as “ high-octane rock and roll."

And finally, a brand new TV show casting in New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas—WOW!

Now, I know Dirk Vermin is obviously a multitask guy, but I really didn’t expect to find him involved in so many diverse ongoing projects. Just imagine writing a book, launching cigar and beer brands, a new TV show and starting up a new band!  It’s like riding a bicycle, while swimming and playing basketball all at the same time!

Now as If ALL this were not enough, Dirk is ready to launch two more projects that I cannot tell you about yet, but will share with you next month. In order to make sure I didn’t miss anything regarding Dirk’s projects, I recorded and uploaded two videos on YouTube.

Here are the links so you can see for yourself that I am not kidding:

Xanterra at the Grand Canyon South Rim

by Sally Kuehn
We booked a room at the Xanterra Parks and Resort on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It’s a very convenient place, only about a mile from Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Beautiful alpine scenery all around, great for walks. Also, the free shuttle service which runs all over the area is very efficient and regular too, making it all a very accessible and enjoyable place to visit.

The twin room which we stayed at was clean and appropriate, and the great condition of the bathroom was a definite plus too.  The elevation is nearly 7,000 feet, but the temperature is typically 25 degrees cooler than the desert.

There is a free bus service within the South Rim Area. The shuttle took us all around the canyon. First, we went to the Desert View Information Center, whose staff told us how the Grand Canyon continues to inspire a variety of people. It is located at the park’s east entrance, 26 miles from Grand Canyon Village on hwy. 64. at Market Plaza.

We were also at the Verkamp’s Visitor Center, located within the Historic District on the canyon rim just east of the Hopi House, which is one of the oldest buildings in the park. The National Park Service rangers and Grand Canyon Association staff will answer any questions you may have regarding the park and its natural and cultural resources. The hours vary seasonally; check the current schedule at the park.

Any visitor can plan to visit the Grand Canyon Visitor Center and see a park film and view exhibits. This Visitor Center is located near Mather Point and is within walking distance to the canyon rim.  Ample parking is available and you can ride the free shuttle bus from any of the in-park lodges.

We also visited the Tusayan Museum and Ruin to see original artifacts, which included split twig figurines and ancestral Puebloan pottery. And the Yavapai Geology Museum is a unique historic building located just a short walk or  shuttle ride from the Grand Canyon Visitor Center. It features gorgeous canyon views from its panoramic windows. Exhibits help park visitors to see and understand the complex geologic history of the area.

Finally, there is a General Store located at the Grand Canyon Village Market (928-638-2262) that carries a full line of groceries as well as hiking equipment.  A tourist can purchase anything he needs and also buy gifts at this General Store.

I got a flyer and it said "100% Free VIP entry and free drinks”  Yes, it is for real! Last Friday, I went with two friends to the Ghostbar to check it out.

Chris Hornak (Las Vegas Guest List) took us to the VIP line and we really passed in front of all these people who were waiting to get to the elevators.

At the Ghostbar, Chris invited us for drinks and about a half hour later, we went back to the bar for more drinks. There he was and before we opened our mouths to order drinks, he ordered for us. It amazed me, how he could memorize other people’s favorite drinks. Not only ours, but customers that arrived at the bar at the same time we did.

Originally from New York, Chris Hornak has been working in a variety of professional fields, doing a little bit of everything - from being a webmaster, to a professional poker player for 2, 3 years. "It's fun, but it is not a real job. I eventually went a little bit crazy and went to get a real job so I sold websites for a little while for a company up North and doing that I met some nightclub promoters and they got me into the game."

Since then, Chris has been working as the most popular promoter in Las Vegas, filling nightclubs, from 50 to 1,000 people a day.

"My services are open to every single person. It doesn't matter if the person is tall, short, fat or skinny, it doesn't matter. I take anybody. Because I move so many people, the clubs always accept my clients as long as they are in dress code; we will love to have any type of person."

“Sometimes, for special events, there will be a special dress code. So, GBDC is a winter day party at the Ghostbar and for that people are encouraged to dress crazy. People wear crazy colors and crazy costumes; it's a super-high energy party. You see people dressed like horses, hippos, cows and everything. It's a fun party. I highly recommend it”.

Chris says, "When I wake up in the morning there are anywhere from 100 to 300 emails and text messages from people getting into clubs. It's very important to people. They take it seriously, so I wake up and go through all the messages, making sure everyone and everything is taken care of. My hours are from noon until 2:00 a.m. every day and usually until 4:00 a.m. Whatever anybody needs, I make sure it will be taken care of. We can resolve most any issue right away. All our clients need to do is bring any issue to our attention as quickly as possible so we can fix it."
